Profile |
ResearchAfter spending over two decades in various industry roles as an entrepreneur, I have joined TUM to further my passion for scientific research. My current focus is on advancing computer vision technologies within robotics, specifically for applications in industrial automation. In collaboration with my colleagues, we are pioneering novel methods for 6D pose estimation that leverage synthetic data, end-to-end stereo vision, one shot detection and attention-based neural networks. Our objective is to develop a robotic system capable of accurately grasping and manipulating objects in unstructured settings from simple demonstrations. TeachingIn addition to my research, I teach a course on High Performance Computing for Cyber-Physical Systems, where I introduce students to contemporary methods in parallel and distributed computing. Office hours are on Tuesdays at 16:00. IndustryOutside of academia, I continue to engage with the tech industry as the co-founder and CEO of Cognivix. Our startup is dedicated to innovating automation solutions for High Mix Low Volume Production, striving to bridge the gap between cutting-edge academic research and practical industry applications.
